Admiralty V-class armament and endurance

Admiralty V-class armament varied between ships, while the range figures show the fuel cost of operating at high speed.

Notes

The Admiralty V-class figures cover a group of 23 units, with normal-load displacement of about 1,200 to 1,300 tons. Their main armament matched that of the leaders already outlined. Secondary weapons could include two 40 mm pom-poms or a 12-pounder gun of 76 mm. They carried four torpedo tubes, and some received equipment for minelaying or similar tasks. Maximum speed was 34 knots, with approximately 350 tons of fuel, subject to variation between ships. Range fell from 3,500 nautical miles at 15 knots to 900 at 32 knots, showing how sustained high speed reduced endurance.
