Would less naval aviation and more battleship construction lead to more Jutland-style battles?
Short answerNot necessarily. Geography and dispersed task groups would often produce smaller engagements more like the Falklands or Dogger Bank.
NotesJutland depended on the unusual confrontation between the concentrated Grand Fleet and High Seas Fleet. In the Mediterranean, forces were more likely to meet as separate task groups moving through the theatre. A world with more battleships could therefore produce actions closer in character to the Falklands or Dogger Bank than a single clash between complete battle fleets. Geography and force organization matter more than battleship numbers alone.
