Once Beatty recovered from the accident, would he regain the Battlecruiser Fleet or later command the Grand Fleet?

He might regain a surviving Battlecruiser Fleet or receive another senior post, but missing Jutland would probably keep him from the Grand Fleet and the First Sea Lord succession.

Beatty might recover the Battlecruiser Fleet if it still existed in recognizable form. He would lack the wartime prestige needed to displace Sturdee or Madden as Jellicoe's successor in the Grand Fleet. A respectable Mediterranean command could employ him without restoring the historical path to First Sea Lord. He might instead retire to America or spend the postwar years trading on his Dogger Bank reputation. Missing one battle could reshape the Royal Navy's senior-command network for years.
