Overseas formations make France a worldwide operating navy

France's overseas bases support active formations from Dakar and the Antilles to Indochina and the Pacific.

Notes

French submarine strength includes the logistics needed to sustain large numbers of useful boats. The navy also has formations in the Levant and Casablanca, an African command moved to Dakar, and ships under an admiral in the Antilles. Indochina has cruisers, sloops, gunboats, and submarines, while further vessels operate in the Indian Ocean and Pacific. These locations are working naval bases with forces attached to them.
