In March 1933, a Romanian passenger ship rammed Warspite in fog off Portugal. The battleship did not require major repair, while the passenger vessel needed considerably more work. Routine peacetime movement still exposed large warships to collision risks. Warspite's limited damage also offers a small but telling example of her robust construction before the much more extensive reconstruction that followed.
