The crew burden of recovering casualties from a damaged ship

The recovery work, medical assistance, leave, and monitoring needed after severe internal casualties.

Notes

If Hood survived severe internal damage, recovering dead crewmates would be difficult throughout the ship, including the gun spaces. Sailors would conduct the recovery with medical assistance. Those involved would then receive leave and continued observation because such work could carry a lasting psychological burden. A ship's technical survival does not remove the human cost borne by its crew.
