Warrior's career brought public recognition without fighting in battle. In March 1863 she escorted the royal yachts that brought Princess Alexandra of Denmark to marry the Prince of Wales. Alexandra's praise for the crew reached Admiral Sir Michael Seymour, and Captain Arthur Cochrane had the message engraved on a brass plate fitted to the ship's wheel. A twelve-week tour of British ports that year brought roughly 300,000 visitors aboard, including as many as 13,000 in one day at a single port. At Liverpool, the crew rescued survivors from the Mersey flat Mary Agnes after a collision. A November 1864 refit later replaced Warrior's Armstrong guns with rifled muzzle-loaders.
