Chapter · 1:32:03-1:38:51

Warrior and the defence of an isolated planet

A lone warship joins planetary defences against ten carriers while simultaneous attacks keep the rest of the fleet elsewhere.

Notes

In Nick Webb's Warrior, ten attacking carriers approach New Dublin while its local defences wait for help that cannot arrive in time. Other incursions have drawn the available strike forces elsewhere. Captain Granger arrives with Warrior alone and asks to integrate his ship with the planet's existing forces. His reputation immediately revives hope, even before the defenders learn that no supporting fleet is following him. The local admiral attributes the enemy's slow conventional approach to an attempt to spread terror, although the attackers' motives remain unknown. Granger answers the numerical imbalance by treating the planetary defences, his ship, and his own leadership as a force capable of fighting back.
