Wargaming the unpredictable Hitler trigger

An earlier classroom wargame used a concealed die roll to model the point at which Hitler or another German action brought America into the conflict.

Notes

A similar classroom wargame used a die roll on every turn to determine whether Hitler had yet declared war on the United States. An independent participant rolled the die so the players could not manipulate the result. Even the game manager did not know how every score mapped to an event. Possible results included a discovered German supply effort or another incident that changed the criteria for war. The device represented political uncertainty that the historical evidence could not reduce to a fixed timetable.
