VLS refits do not rule out more guns

If VLS runs out, would modern ships return to RAM launchers and more guns in future refits?

They might add more launchers or guns, but probably in addition to VLS rather than instead of it.

Adding more visible launchers or guns would not require abandoning vertical launch systems. Extra weapons might appear, but they would probably supplement VLS rather than replace it. Modern surface-combatant refits can layer capabilities when space, weight, and mission allow.
