The Rebellion would have benefited from preserving or recovering Venators as mobile fighter bases. A carrier moving around the outer rim would remove the need to concentrate aircraft and personnel on a vulnerable planet. When an Imperial fleet appeared, the ship could depart immediately while fighters followed indirect routes and checked whether they were being pursued. Separate groups could then rendezvous in a third system rather than revealing the carrier's destination. Mobile basing and route dispersion would complicate an opponent's search and targeting problem.
