Reserve service preserved Repulse’s utility

Repulse's later career included Mediterranean service, a refit, reserve assignment, exercises, special-service duty, decommissioning, and sale for scrap. The ship could still be activated for manoeuvres and operational assignments while in reserve. She also transferred a trained crew to HMS Irresistible before receiving another, showing how ships participated in fleet personnel management as well as combat planning. Her continued employment presents readiness as a combination of hulls, maintenance, duties, and crews.
