A North Carolina-inspired Star Destroyer with a lower bridge

The American concept keeps the Imperial Star Destroyer silhouette while lowering the bridge and balancing its weapons layout.

Notes

The American Star Destroyer uses North Carolina as the model for a powerful ship with a more balanced arrangement. Its bridge sits lower and farther forward, about two-thirds of the way aft from the bow, to reduce the vulnerability of the familiar tall superstructure. The preferred image originally emerged from an attempt at Warspite, but its layout fitted the American concept better. The accompanying craft are interpreted as torpedo boats because they look too large to be fighters, while another version appears crowded with antiaircraft weapons.
