Urge had carried out commando operations before the worsening situation at Malta led to a move toward Alexandria. She sailed with 32 crew, eleven passengers, and a war correspondent, but failed to arrive. Her wreck was not discovered until 2019. It showed that a mine had struck while she was on the surface after leaving Grand Harbour. The explosion detached the bow and the boat sank so abruptly that nobody survived.
