Upright: surviving depth charges and sinking Armando Diaz

Upright survived repeated depth-charge attacks and sank the Italian light cruiser Armando Diaz before being scrapped in 1946.

Notes

Upright commissioned in September 1940 and survived the war. Attacks on Italian vessels exposed her to heavy depth charging at several points. Her successes included the light cruiser Armando Diaz and an Italian dry dock under tow. A photograph of her alongside a tender introduces the support vessels needed for submarine operations. She was scrapped in March 1946.
