How would fifty Punic-class supercarriers and two hundred Epoch-class carriers change the Human-Covenant War?
Short answerThe carriers could form powerful ten-ship squadrons with numerous escorts. Concentrated fire would make them effective, but losses and the Covenant's remaining resources still matter.
NotesFifty Punic-class supercarriers and two hundred Epoch-class carriers permit squadrons of two Punics and eight Epochs, each supported by escorts. These groups would concentrate enough fire to attack major Covenant ships, although the participants disagree about how readily such targets could be defeated. Punics are valued as the UNSC's strongest ships before Infinity, and the formation keeps them at the centre of the fighting force. Extra destroyers and frigates would absorb attacks so the heavier ships could do their work, an explicitly grim tradeoff for the escort crews. The Covenant would still have substantial resources to fight these formations.
