Unicorn and HMS Ocean developed a complementary two-carrier system off Korea. Damaged aircraft could recover on Unicorn instead of fouling Ocean's deck and interrupting the strike cycle. Ocean later transferred Sea Furies so Unicorn could provide combat air patrol for the force. The arrangement converted repair capacity and spare deck space into immediate operational resilience. Together, the two ships increased striking power without duplicating every front-line carrier capability.
