Unbeaten: a probable Coastal Command friendly-fire loss

Unbeaten disappeared after a Biscay patrol and a special landing in Spain, probably in an attack by a British Wellington.

Notes

Unbeaten sailed from Holy Loch for a final patrol that included Operation Bluestone, landing a person in Spain. After completing the Bay of Biscay patrol, she was returning to Britain. A Wellington from No. 172 Squadron, Coastal Command, is identified as the probable cause of her loss on 11 November 1942. She was lost with all hands, but the attack remains a probable explanation.
