When UAD mechanics distort armor and secondary batteries

The battle result and design interface expose places where game balance produces a ship that would be implausible as a historical design.

Notes

The simulated battlecruiser's 5.5-inch secondaries do most of the damage that destroys its opponent. The battle report gives the secondaries 58 percent accuracy against 26 percent for the main battery, while the torpedoes never reach firing range. The G3-based design also carries roughly 15 inches of armor on both its belt and deck. This extreme deck protection follows the game's hull-balancing mechanics, which encourage a deck as thick as the belt. The result illustrates how success within UAD can reward an implausible historical design, so its performance needs to remain separate from conclusions about real warships.
