The initial layout has two groups of 64 A50 cells for Aster and two groups of 32 strike-length Mk 41 cells, giving 192 vertical-launch cells. A later version adds 64 Sea Ceptor cells in four groups of sixteen. Space for up to 24 Naval Strike Missiles brings the stated missile capacity to 280. The accompanying gun fit includes 76 mm weapons, a 5-inch gun, and four Phalanx mounts. This is a personal design proposal, distinct from the Type 43 replacement counterfactual that prompts it. Its purpose is to give each destroyer enough magazine depth to make a substantial contribution when joining an allied force.

A personal Type 45 design with a much deeper magazine
A personal alternative to Type 45 combines large air-defence and strike magazines so that one arriving destroyer would add substantial firepower to an allied formation.
