Could Type 21 frigates carry lightweight Sea Wolf?

A lightweight Sea Wolf fit was technically possible, but only by trading away another capability in the constrained frigate design.

Question

Could Type 21 frigates have received lightweight Sea Wolf?

Short answer

Yes, but the installation would have required giving up something else because of the ship's space and weight limits.

Notes

The modification is a question of allocation rather than impossibility. The Type 21 could accept a lightweight Sea Wolf installation, but its limited space and weight meant another system would have to be removed. Even a lightweight missile upgrade would reshape the rest of the warship.
