Type 055 as a modern cruiser in role

Which modern cruiser is the favourite?

Type 055 is chosen as the closest contemporary vessel to a cruiser in role and function, although it is not formally presented as one.

Type 055 is the personal favourite among contemporary ships that perform a cruiser's role. No ship currently being built is accepted in this assessment as technically a cruiser. Type 055 comes closest in role and function despite its formal classification. The preference rests on what the ship does rather than its label.
