An Asian diversion would leave Nazi rule and anti-Jewish policy inside Germany intact. Hitler could use the Far Eastern intervention for prestige while postponing an attack on Poland. A longer prewar interval might give more German Jews time to emigrate to Palestine, France, or the United States before the Holocaust. That limited human consequence of delay would not make the regime less dangerous. Germany's modest expeditionary contribution would also let Hitler grandstand internationally without giving him control of the much larger Allied coalition.

A delayed war and Jewish emigration
Postponing war in Europe could leave more time for Jews to flee Nazi Germany even as state persecution continued.
