Tribal-class destroyers as early radar ships

Did Tribal-class destroyers use radar?

Yes. They were among the Royal Navy's earliest radar-fitted destroyers, although the exact Canadian plotting fit at the Battle of Ushant remains uncertain.

Tribal-class destroyers used radar extensively and were among the Royal Navy's first destroyers to receive it. Their wartime employment included radar-supported action around the D-Day invasion force. Some ships also received plotting displays that helped crews turn contacts into a tactical picture. Whether the Canadian Tribals carried the same plotting equipment at the Battle of Ushant remains uncertain.
