The collection includes articles on Samuel Bentham, the Blomefield gun, Benjamin Robins and gunnery science, Robert Fulton's weapons, Georgian navigation, signal books, and shipboard medicine. It also reaches beyond Trafalgar to Joseph Banks and single-ship actions in the War of 1812. Together, these studies provide a broad entry point into the institutions and technical culture of the sailing navy.
