NotesIf Tiger emerged alongside Renown, the Royal Navy would briefly possess enough fast capital-ship cover to place another major unit in dock. Hood would receive first priority because her value justified doing everything possible during the window created by German battle damage or inactivity. Repulse would remain in service as insurance against a sudden requirement for another fast ship. A Queen Elizabeth-class battleship might also enter reconstruction if the temporary balance of forces allowed it.
