A three-LHD replacement for Britain's amphibious ships

Three ski-jump LHDs could replace several British amphibious and aviation-support ships while preserving multiple flight decks and adding well-deck capacity.

Notes

One possible force would add a third aircraft carrier or, preferably for amphibious needs, three landing helicopter docks with ski jumps. Those ships would replace Albion, Bulwark, Ocean, and supporting aviation capacity associated with Argus. The proposal would exchange roughly six existing flight decks for five future decks while increasing the number of well decks. This force-structure trade links carrier aviation, amphibious lift, and platform replacement instead of treating each ship in isolation.
