Why Ark Royal fits a third Queen Elizabeth-class carrier

What might a third Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier have been called?

Probably HMS Ark Royal, following an established Royal Navy carrier-name pattern.

HMS Ark Royal is the natural name for a hypothetical third Queen Elizabeth-class carrier, and versions of a third-ship concept were discussed. The proposed sequence of Queen Elizabeth, Prince of Wales, and Ark Royal echoes the earlier Invincible, Illustrious, and Ark Royal trio. Inherited names can signal continuity across carrier generations.
