USS Texas and an early talking picture at sea

What talking picture did USS Texas screen aboard ship in 1927?

It may have been a western, but the title is not confirmed here.

The question credits USS Texas with screening the first talking picture aboard a US Navy vessel and suggests Al Jolson's The Jazz Singer. The reply recalls having written down the title elsewhere, but can offer only a tentative memory that it was a western. Neither suggestion is confirmed, so the film remains unidentified in this exchange.
