The simulated British ships use water-based protection and bridge arrangements that UAD can only approximate. Those compromises may give them an unintended survivability advantage, although the American designs are also described earlier as slightly more heavily armoured than expected. A six-inch shell that bounces off armour in the game would still cause real damage to a hull, showing another limit in the damage model. Even with similar design totals, these abstractions prevent the repeated battles from settling the historical design question by themselves.

Survivability differences remain a modelling caveat
UAD cannot reproduce every protection choice exactly, so repeated British success remains evidence about the model rather than a clean test of historical designs.
