The drill first shows how two Zornhau cuts can meet, making the same action both an attack and a defence. The pair then use the distance between the crossguard and the point of contact to explain why one fighter has the stronger leverage in the bind. Contact near one fighter's crossguard gives that fighter better mechanical control than contact farther along the opposing blade. A winding action tries to turn the weaker position into a thrust, but the defender can carry the point past and expose the attacker's side. The response is deliberately compact: in unarmoured swordplay, an efficient cut can arrive faster and work better than a large theatrical swing.

Strong and weak in the blade bind
A paired Zornhau drill explains leverage in a blade bind, winding toward the face, and a compact counterattack through the opening it creates.
