The Storm missile weighed roughly two tons, reached Mach 2-3, and carried an 80-kilogram warhead under radio-command guidance. The first generation reached about 30 kilometers, while later development pushed the range toward 55 kilometers. Twin rotating launchers supplied the weapon, but the launchers alone did not define the capability. Head Lights fire-control radar and Top Sail surveillance radar were needed to find and direct engagements. Their appearance with Kresta II helps date the planned system fit and shows why an air-defence weapon must be read together with its sensor chain.

Storm air defence and the Kresta II sensor fit
The Storm, or NATO Goblet, missile system illustrates how the Kresta II combined large air-defence missiles with radar and fire-control equipment.
