A superweapon still needs an accessible shutdown control

Crew placement and an external breaker illustrate the control measures a powerful weapon needs.

Notes

Concentrating all a weapon's crew in one place raises the possibility that one attack could remove every operator. A Stargate power system provides another example of a dangerous control arrangement: shutting it down requires entering the power chamber itself. An external breaker is proposed so an operator could cut the power without entering that chamber. The design criticism is that developing an extraordinary energy source should include a practical means of stopping it.
