Weapons, fighters and the role of a space capital ship

The Venator receives praise for giving a massive warship guns, missiles and capable fighters. Its fighter complement makes the hull's size easier to justify, although an elevated command centre draws criticism. A later pictured capital ship combines battleship and aircraft-carrier functions with capacity to carry troops. A large spacecraft can therefore support several kinds of operation through its weapons and embarked forces.
