Speed and firepower against heavy cruisers

A simulated fight against two slower Spanish heavy cruisers illustrates the battlecruiser aim of holding range while using superior speed and guns.

Notes

The simulation tests the six-gun design against two Spanish heavy cruisers generated by the game. The displayed opponents appear to make 24 knots and carry four twin 9-inch mounts, 5-inch secondary guns, and guns reaching 13.3 kilometres. A 28-knot battlecruiser should be able to hold the range and limit their ability to damage it. The test ends in a win, although one 4-inch mount is disabled. These opponents do not represent an actual Spanish cruiser class. The tactical lesson is that speed and heavier guns must let a battlecruiser choose its range, while a third triple turret would strengthen the broadside.
