A biodome is proposed as part of a large spacecraft's life-support system, using Destiny in Stargate as the example. Plants would contribute to oxygen generation and make a natural cycle part of the ship's ecosystem. The proposal allows scrubbers and other machinery alongside the planted space. Its stated purpose includes improving the quality of the air aboard the ship.
