Designing turret arcs for three-dimensional combat

The Manticore's two main guns have limited arcs despite being its most useful offensive and defensive weapons. Mounting guns above and below the hull would give them greater freedom to engage targets in three-dimensional combat. The proposed alternative uses four distributed turrets with overlapping fields of fire, allowing weapons to concentrate forward, aft or above as needed. Engineering arrangements should support that requirement instead of dictating a badly restricted battery.
