Brassey's Naval Annual 1949 includes an illustration of a Sovetsky Soyuz-class battleship as it was expected to appear when complete. The image records contemporary expectations for an unfinished design. It also complicates the easy dismissal of Soviet postwar battleship plans as self-evidently foolish.
