Sokol combined destroyer armament with 29-knot speed

Yarrow-built Sokol carried guns, torpedoes, and mines while reaching 29 knots in the mid-1890s.

Notes

Sokol was ordered from Yarrow and had the armament and speed expected of a destroyer. She carried one 75 mm gun and three 47 mm guns, alongside two 15-inch torpedo tubes with six torpedoes and capacity for ten mines. Her 29-knot speed was impressive for a ship laid down in 1894 and launched and commissioned in 1895. She survived long enough to join the Bolsheviks in 1917, by which time she had been renamed.
