Småland packs many capabilities into a compact hull, matching Sweden's demand for a ship that could do almost everything. Her equipment includes eight-barrel anti-submarine mortars, eight torpedo tubes arranged around a missile launcher, twin 120 mm and 57 mm guns, six single 40 mm Bofors weapons, mines, rocket rails, smoke equipment, and a helicopter pad. The tour also reaches her extensive combat information centre and protected machinery spaces. Together these details show how densely Swedish designers armed a Cold War destroyer.
