Sirius moves from China Station service to the Ostend raid

Sirius served on the China Station, trained sailors, guarded British interests off two African coasts, and ended as a blockship in the first Ostend raid.

Notes

Sirius spent much of her career on the China Station before joining the training squadron in 1912. She supported Belgian troops on the coast, then served as an east-coast guardship from 1914 into 1915. A transfer to West Africa kept her on overseas station work until 1918. During the first Ostend raid she and Brilliant grounded outside the harbor entrance and were destroyed by their crews, so neither wreck reached its intended blocking position.
