How holding Singapore could reshape Burma and Allied reinforcements

An Allied-held Singapore could receive troops from India and the Philippines while keeping Japanese forces tied down in Malaya instead of advancing into Burma.

Notes

Japanese troops could still advance down the peninsula, but supply losses could halt them short of Singapore. Britain could then bring troops and supplies from India, while evacuated American personnel from the Philippines might reinforce the defense. Japanese formations still fighting in Malaya would be less able to pivot into Burma. Continued Allied reinforcement could eventually threaten those forces from more than one direction, although that pincer remains a speculative consequence.
