Singapore could support a trans-Pacific raid cycle

Exceptional endurance opened the possibility of basing the boats near secure fuel stocks at Singapore while sending them all the way to the American coast.

Notes

The I-400's fuel capacity made its operating base less dependent on proximity to the target. Singapore could have supplied a recurring trans-Pacific raid cycle because it held fuel that Japan itself increasingly lacked. Such a deployment would still require ammunition and aircraft stores to reach the base reliably. Extreme platform range can redistribute a logistical problem rather than eliminate it.
