Chapter · 9:12-11:16

Singapore as the Far East fleet hub

The scenario treats Singapore's docks and facilities as the operational centre a Japanese battle squadron must threaten.

Notes

The imagined Japanese objective is not an amphibious conquest but a dash through the straits to bombard Singapore. The base matters because its docks, repair facilities and logistical support make it the Royal Navy's principal theatre-entry hub in the Far East. Damaging that infrastructure could delay British access and reinforcement by weeks or months even without occupying the island. A cautious British admiral has already moved the Indian Ocean battle fleet to Singapore, turning the raid into a fleet interception. The scenario therefore frames the battle around operational logistics rather than a simple search for enemy ships.
