Using barrel length to approximate a modern-gun comparison

The Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts demonstration uses barrel-length changes as a rough proxy for the range and accuracy gap between older and modernised guns.

Notes

Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts supplies a visual approximation rather than an engineering calculation. The British and German comparison ships receive shorter main guns, while the modernised designs retain much longer barrels and automatic weapons. In the game, this produces a battleship range contrast of about 25 kilometres against 55 to 57 kilometres. The arithmetic is explicitly rough, so the useful result is the apparent scale of the range and fire-control advantage, not a validated performance prediction.
