When simulation balance distorts a warship comparison

The two-against-one battle shows why game accuracy, damage modelling, and engagement range must be separated from claims about real French and German ships.

Notes

During the two-versus-one Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts battle, the French quadruple turrets appear unusually inaccurate and vulnerable despite radar, while the German ship lands hits much more regularly. The result reflects the simulation rather than proving that the real French mountings were ineffective or German battleships were super ships. The game also closes the opponents to less than six kilometres, far inside a representative range for this design comparison. In historical terms, twelve 15-inch guns against eight should give the French ship a substantial volume-of-fire advantage, although turret layout and battle damage still matter. The battle shows how a dramatic simulated result can expose model assumptions instead of settling a historical question.
