Pursuit and interception in the Dogger Bank simulations

Repeated computer runs leave Derfflinger able to escape in roughly 40 percent of cases, while total German losses usually require the fast British group to drive the retreating ships into a slower interception force.

Notes

Derfflinger escapes in about 40 percent of the computer runs of this counterfactual. In the remaining runs, British losses range from two Tiger Cubs to two Tiger Cubs and a battlecruiser, often Princess Royal. Total German losses usually occur when the fast British group drives the retreating ships into the slower group, which has moved onto an interception course. The extra cruisers support the pursuit while the slower ships block the German withdrawal.
