Shropshire's Pacific war earned five battle honours

With the Royal Australian Navy, Shropshire supported amphibious operations, fought through the Philippines, and survived close kamikaze attacks.

Notes

Shropshire served principally with Task Force 74 and supported the Hollandia landings before later joining Task Force 77. She fought at Surigao Strait and during the Luzon campaign, including the Lingayen Gulf operations, before firing her last shots in anger during the Borneo landings. One kamikaze narrowly missed, while debris from another struck the cruiser after the frigate Gascoigne shot it down at very close range. Shropshire attended the Japanese surrender in the Philippines and then the signing of the instrument of surrender in Tokyo Bay. Australia credited her with five battle honours covering New Guinea, Leyte Gulf, Lingayen Gulf, Borneo, and the wider Pacific war. Five personnel died during her Australian service, but none of those deaths resulted from enemy action.
