How pieces of Shah survived after the ship

Shah's hull disappeared, but iron masts fitted to Victory, a stern plaque in Bermuda, and a Portsmouth crew monument preserve material traces of the ship.

Notes

Shah's iron masts were considered lighter and more durable than Victory's wooden masts. Fitted to Victory during dry-docking work in 1887, they survived long after Shah's hull was sold. The stern plaque associated with the Persian ruler for whom Shah was named is displayed at the St George's Historical Society Museum in Mitchell House, Bermuda. A monument to the crew stands in Victoria Park, Portsmouth.
