Chapter · 32:40-41:19

The Serbian flotilla's unusually mixed fleet

A fleet assembled from German, American, Yugoslav, and other sources gives Serbia useful river capabilities but a difficult support burden.

Notes

Serbia's river force combines Neštin-class minesweepers, patrol craft, landing craft, and pontoon units with the command ship Kozara. Some patrol vessels were built in Regensburg in 1953 for the U.S. Rhine River Patrol before passing to Yugoslavia. No. 111 serves as the ceremonial flagship, a separate role from Kozara's command duties. Hulls and components from different periods and suppliers, including German, Yugoslav, American, and Chinese sources, create a difficult support burden and a case for standardization. The 2018 Century of Victory exercise brought minesweepers, landing craft, and smaller patrol boats together to demonstrate manoeuvre along and across rivers.
